I am so thankful with how the Lord has used me and my teammates these last two weeks in Nicaragua! So since meeting Felix, the guy I wrote about a few blogs ago, we have continued to visit him and his family. Over these past weeks you can tell his condition has worsened. His hair is greyer, he moves slower, suffers from greater pain, and he has less energy. His health is slowly declining but his faith is certainly not defeated. Our visits with him and his family are always concluded in prayer giving thanks to the Lord for everything that he has blessed him with.
Our hearts went out to this family filled with joy and we began to ask if there is anything we could do to help them. They began to explain how water came through the roof when it rained and showed us how their walls were rusting away. So we were like okay we have to do something. Our squad put together $500 and we were able to purchase all the necessary materials to redo their small house. This week I have been there all day every day and I could not be happier!

Almost Done!
I am amazed at how the Lord has put us together. It is only through God that this has happened. It is completely crazy how we even found this family and that we are able to help them so much! They are soo excited and thankful that we are doing this for them! It is truly incredible and humbling! We were talking with another lady in the community today and she was telling us how people knew about how much Felix was praising the Lord in the midst of his sickness. She explained that the people know that what we are doing is a blessing from the Lord because of his faith! Thank you Lord for using me to bring you glory in this community!
We were also able to purchase medicine for him that will help ease the pain and potentially extend his life. They were not able to afford it and were so thankful when we gave it to them today! Also we raised some extra money so tomorrow we are surprising them with mattresses!! Because currently they sleep on bed frames covered with cardboard or tarp cots! Yaya so excited!!
So they make us lunch everyday…. That has been fun. Day 1 soup with who knows what in it.. every bite was exciting! We kept finding different things in it. Hahha hilarious. On the plus side we got to make some tortillas. Day 2 a step up it was like soupy rice with chicken. We got to watch the women cut off the chicken’s head and then cut it into pieces.. we eat organic around here! Day 3 rice, beans, and plantains! Praise the Lord! We are hoping for the best tomorrow!
